Non-Resident Firearm Declaration Form

Non-Resident Firearm Declaration

Bringing firearms into Canada is a very simple process. Each hunter is allowed to transport 3 firearms across the border with one Declaration Form ($25.00 Cdn). Since there is no extra charge to declare up to 3 firearms, I recommend taking along a back up firearm. Each hunter must complete the Declaration Form and transport their own firearm across the border.
  1. Fill out the Non-Resident Firearm Declaration Form (PDF 323Kb) and,
  2. Present it in triplicate and unsigned, to Customs at your first point of entry into Canada.
You can also obtain this form by calling 1 (800) 731-4000 (Canada and U.S.) or 1 (506) 624-5380 (other countries) and from all Customs offices across Canada. For more information, visit the Canadian Firearms Centre.
